Miloh ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of families using our app. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you and your children.

Important: Miloh collects information about children, including photographs. By using Miloh, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children whose information you provide, and that you consent to this collection on their behalf.

Children's Privacy

Miloh is designed for use by parents and guardians, not directly by children. We take the privacy of children's information seriously.

  • We only collect children's information from verified parents or guardians
  • Photos of children are considered personal information and are protected accordingly
  • We never use children's photos for advertising or training AI models
  • Parents can request complete deletion of their child's data at any time

Information We Collect

About You (Parent/Guardian)

  • Account information: Email address and authentication method (Apple Sign-In or email link)
  • App usage: When you use the app and which features you access

About Your Child

  • Profile information: Child's name and date of birth
  • Photographs: Images you upload showing your child's teeth and gums
  • Analysis results: AI-generated observations about dental development
  • Notes: Any notes you add to photos

How We Process Photos

When you upload a photo, it is securely sent to our analysis service to generate educational observations about your child's dental development.

Third-party processing:

Photos are analysed using Google's Gemini AI model via a secure API service (OpenRouter). This processing is:

  • Encrypted in transit
  • Processed immediately and not retained by the AI service
  • Not used to train any AI models

After analysis, your photos are stored securely in encrypted storage within the European Union. Only you can access your family's photos and analysis results.

What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your data or your children's data
  • We never share photos with advertisers
  • We never use facial recognition to identify individuals
  • We never use your photos to train AI models
  • We never share data with third parties except for the analysis described above

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).

  • All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Photos are stored in private buckets accessible only to your account
  • Database access is protected by row-level security policies
  • We use industry-standard authentication (Apple Sign-In, secure email links)

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.

Upon account deletion:

  • All photos are permanently deleted immediately
  • All child profiles and analysis results are removed immediately
  • Your authentication data is deleted
  • Encrypted backups may retain data for up to 90 days for disaster recovery

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you and your children
  • Rectification: Correct any inaccurate information
  • Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
  • Object: Object to certain types of processing

As a parent or guardian, you can exercise these rights on behalf of your children.

Parental Controls

Parents and guardians have full control over their children's data:

  • View: See all photos and analysis results in the app
  • Edit: Update child profiles and add notes to photos
  • Delete: Remove individual photos or entire child profiles
  • Export: Request a copy of all data (contact us)
